It’s based on a book that’s a complete story with no loose threads. It doesn’t even leave any mysteries for a sequel. So far the show follows the book pretty closely, so I’m assuming it will be nothing like From/Lost. The show’s not very good, it’s okay, but if you aren’t watching because it looks like there’ll be unanswered questions then don’t worry about that.

Just watched this film for the nteenth time, marveling at its simple genius and quietly strong and darkly hilarious performances. I would just like to say that, if I were one of the protagonists, the villain in question of the film (not exposed until the end) would have been psychologically shredded by me. As simple as her “crimes” seem, I find them reprehensible.

i think it was a bad decision of the film makers to use the ai voice over, its just tacky and isnt like conceptually relevant as if it could have been an autogenerated personalised documentary, just feels more like someone who likes technology and isnt really grounded in ethics and probably used ai to write the narration too. very basic ethical regurgitation. i used to make music and used this one program with which you can slow sound by editing the waveform, but bring it slow enough and the sound structure that’s made is always the same jilty thing, and so i would hear it in songs and know theyve done this thing that youre sort of dazzled by and just use it without changing the preset. it just yammers with no life. like stock photos for corporate motivation. similar with final cut pro when you use slow mo and its that same techno echo liquid stuff. pet peevs i guess. skippable.

Toni Collette, yes. But also Alanna Ubach, twin Parker Posey (yep, hers is a brother) & then Lisa Kudrow. Typical dead-end jobs & the people who inhabit them is examined & poked at.

I will say Rebel Wilson is still chosing comedies,
but with a bit more action

Thought it would be more of a RomCom but there is no comedy in this movie. It’s more a realist take on dating, life, and love. The trio made it watchable even without the comedy I was waiting for. Shame, because Evans and Pascal could of made for some great comic relief. But it would of changed the dynamic and the goal the director was going for. Good one time watch 6.5/10
