Lol…I keep hoping that in one of these episodes the writers will have someone pound the character of “Tyson” mercilessly in the back of the head with a brick or something!
*(Btw…Hey, “Tulsa King” studio executives, yes you! Regarding that totally useless “Tyson” character that you’ve been hanging onto for some kinda ‘God-only-knows-why’ reason - please dump that character’s useless, immature ass for good! Merci buckets! :)

I recently watched an episode of The Neighborhood where the actor who plays Parker in this episode guest stars. He is really funny in it so if anyone wants to check it out, it was Season 2, Episode 16.

Kinda concerning the holiday episode, which is sort of supposed to be a mid-season finale before the winter break, needed to bring in a cameo character with substantial screentime to carry the episode. I am really trying to vibe with this show but it’s getting hard. Hope there are more interesting plot lines in 2026 instead of the same stuff happening each week…it’s getting a little too predictable and flat.

I had high hopes for this show it was a clear binge watch Netflix n all, Ok it had it’s moments big fan of Lena but for me it was all over the place nothing quite actually came together Gillian Anderson whom I admire looked totally out of sorts as did half the whole cast, an brutal script, give it 2/5

Gilligan's Island (1964) S1 E1

All problems solved in non-serialized 30 minutes time after school. Kids love it, but since there’s more than 30 episodes each season, they can’t do a binge in one sitting before getting wore out. Bwa-hahahaha. Gilligan has more energy than they do.

Tomasthedog 3 points 4 days ago.

i watched this back on tv in the 90s and even then i knew it was an old as fuck show, but still i loved the fuck out of it. the ginger was my honnie growing up, but seeing it again now, all those ladies be fine as hell you know what i’m saying. now that’s a tale for another time, matey.

Is anyone still watching this dreck? Once they started focusing way too much on the mating habits of the libidinous crew and less on the trashy guests and their interaction with the crew, I gave up on this and all the other Below Decks franchises. I also don’t think the captains should get any of the tip - I’m sure their generous salaries are enough!

I liked it better when “The Duke” was there. I know they wanted to keep her “a strong independent woman who don’t need no man” but if that was the case they shouldn’t have tried to make them a couple before he “left” and kept him around as just friends.

Damn, how great is Jerry Jones!
If I did not know he was the owner of the Dallas Cowboys,
I would thought it as a well acted scene by a character actor.
I’m sure with all the speeches, board room meetings, interactions with
coaches, politicians that scene was well within his wheelhouse.
I’m curious how many takes he did…

Star Wars: Visions (2021) S3 E9
Xyphyr 1 points 4 days ago. (Contains Spoilers)

What in the hot trash, fever dream was this one.

All jokes aside, this season as a “Star Wars” IP was a 4/10, as an Japanese anime presentation a 9/10. It really brought me back to 80s anime, when we scraped, and scrounged pre-internet for violent, lewd and “adult” cartoons. Disjointed, deep, dark, cut throat writing with stunning visuals.

We really are extremely spoiled now to say this is low quality content, and yes, to today’s standards it kinda is. If you told 12 year old me that someday Disney owned Star Wars and they make an Japanese animated version, I’d probably fight you, and/or disbelieve you, then beg you to show me.

No, sounds like you don’t get high on illicit substances recreationally. “High” us usually relaxing and mind numbing, this episode is more like drunk, or being in a fist fight.

OSS 117: From Africa with Love (2021)
Jirido 0 points 4 days ago.

Amusing to some degree.. I can’t really recommend it except to them that think the un-appropriate fool is fun. It is slightly colonist excusing for France under the disguise of making joke of an racist bigot.. But at the end our hero is loyal to France even if being a fool. There is a bit of a Mr. Bean “thing” involved. I’m not sad that I saw it but would have lived on good without it.

I liked it personally, but I don’t think I went in with expectations - and for me things that I “Don’t like” in Star Trek and Star Wars I’d still re-watch and rather watch than 90% of scifi. For instance Star Trek: Enterprise or Solo: A Star Wars Movie.

fessologue -1 points 4 days ago.

That’s kind of my point too: Discovery doesn’t need to be judged against the old shows, it stands on its own as modern sci‑fi. If you go in without expecting it to replicate TNG or DS9, it’s actually a really solid ride.

Predators (2025)

Really great doc on the predatory nature of child sex offenders and the rise and fall of To Catch a Predator. It did a very good job of staying unbiased with the predator, those that catch them and those that are hurt by them. l will say this, let’s face it with this subject matter it is almost impossible.

Star Trek: Discovery (2017) S1 E3
fessologue -7 points 4 days ago.

I don’t get all these complaints. Y’all going in with specific expectations I think, expecting to see the old familiar stuff. But this is good sci-fi, modern.
Also keep in mind that the main character was total invented for this series. Never referenced in other treks. So take for what it is, and enjoy sci-fi!

In what way? It’s very much in the vein of Torchwood. I love RTD because his stories are more grounded but I’m not seeing anything different.

greyfur 5 points 4 days ago.

I don’t see how you get anything of Torchwood in this, I’m not seeing it. Seems to me to be a totally different animal. Whole premise is different. You said this wasn’t going to be anything groundbreaking, and I have watched a LOT of science fiction over the decades, and have yet to see anyone do anything quit like this before. So far it’s pretty good. That does not mean that it might not start sucking at some point, that would all depend on the writers and how they develop this. It could well go on to be good, or bad. Oy some place in the middle.
