Yea I know the story very wellā¦.I read Mary Wollstonecraft Shelleyās bookā¦and there was no bride for the monster in the original. Hollywood added the bride. But I was making note, that Del Toro would of course remake Hollywoods versionā¦because in the Del Toro movies, the leading lady always has a monster romantisizing herā¦.its a theme Del Toro is obsessed with.

Well done doc. They have my sympathy. As I watched I would see the six month old piglets on the screen then look at my six month old puppy and really there is little difference as far as awareness and their needs. Heartbreaking.

Yes I have. I think it has a lot of promise. Probably has the best chance of being an Anne Rice series that stays around for several seasons. There are a lot of different things they can do with it, so Iām optimistic.

Eau Noe the remake turned into a milktoast skuffle with a schmoozey ending? In 2025?? I call bullshyt Devotees were hyped for something more like, āRehab Roses: Final Rose Bowl, NDE!!ā āāchandelier didnāt kill āem, but reconsiliation might?
If I hadnāt stumbled into my gang of grrrrls waiting for it I wouldnāt have known. Now I gotta go see fer shurrr. Totally got me hooked in the COLD OPENING. Then the show meandered down to awfully flat and ended with an out of key remake of: So Happy Together (nothing could prepare us for that either, jeez it was awful)

I donāt know. I guess this movie was okay for what it was. But the original War of the Roses was just brutal. This didnāt even get close to that level until there was only about ten minutes left. And then it was kiss and make up to nothing more than an ironic end. The end of the original, was again, nothing short of just brutal. This new version just didnāt do it for me and instead made me want to just watch to original again. On itās own, I suppose this was alright, but I guess I resent it being associated with an absolute classic. But I think thatās what makes this a one time watch, whereas the other you want to watch over and over and share with anyone who hasnāt seen it. They just donāt make em like they used to.

Holy crapā¦that was one heck of a bloody rollercoaster ride. Very John Wick right out the gate. Edge of your seat kind of movie. With a little humor thrown in to lighten the moodā¦sort of. How did I miss this movie? Worth every second.

He said he moved back into a rooming house because his home was too big and empty for just him. But it was never mentioned if he rented it out or sold it, so Iām curious where theyāre going to live when her and Susanna come back.
A funny goof the writers made; in S02E09 āConvalescenceā Murdoch says Mrs. Kitchen is a terrible cook. Then in S10E08 āWeekend at Murdochāsā Julia offers to cut Murdochās hair instead of him going to Mrs. Kitchen, and he says then he wouldnāt have an excuse to go back and eat her stew. lol
Getting back to George and Effie for a minute; getting the divorce also lets US know that she will remain on MM. A good exit for her (when the contract is up) would be joining George in Newfoundland :)
If he did rent it out he will have to evict the tenants unless he leased it for a specific amount of time.

George was first charged with murder, then exonerated from that but still had to do time (for letting Edna Brooks escape - S09E01 āNolo Contendere,ā), and was told heād never get promoted beyond Constable. Effie has built herself a career and doesnāt want to lose that. And besidesā¦ Jonny Harris has a thriving series of his own (Still Standing) and is probably having difficulty splitting his time between both shows. And, who knows, maybe his contract is up with MM. As unfortunate and sad as it is (yup I bawled like a baby), this is the best way they can do his exit. Itās MUCH better than Jacksonās :ā(
What annoyed me about Juliaās character is when Murdoch was finally willing to move to London, he receives the telegram telling him not to. Now I realize the actress was still on maternity leave with her daughter, but they surely could have done a better job of that scenario. And YES she is coming back at some point this season.

City of Angels feels like a product of them trying to take the literal Idea of a Penny Dreadful ( cheap horror story sold for a penny back in the day), and apply it to that 1950ās time- which doesnt fully translate because alot of the āmaybe this is true somewhereā is gone with the advancement of technology, also why theres not a modern Penny Dreadful haha. Basically our version of the Ed Gein Monster series if it had magic

If ya can deal with the disturbing aspects, its a decent fantasy action thriller with a macabre twist.
This is going to be a good season. I know more people from this then the celebrity UK one which is kind of funny.
